Cookery for kids

Spread the love

Cooking – it has been a popular trend for a fair few years now and has brought us many celebrity chefs, some more annoying than others in my personal opinion.  We have quite literally become a nation obsessed with our television screens and book shelves sagging under the weight of choice and variety.

When looking franchises for kids, it is always of utmost importance to do your research.  Having a franchise that sells Christmas items is great if you either only want to work for three months a year, or it is an extra string to your bow.  However, you need to be looking at what is likely to appeal to others and what has potential longevity.

Cooking
One such opportunity that I have recently been introduced to is the concept of cookery.  I can quite honestly put my hand up and say that when I heard about it I was not only impressed by the idea, but I was also a little jealous I had not thought of it first.  Let’s be fair; it kind of has a win/win situation written all over it.  Firstly, we all need to eat; this is a fact.  Secondly, and as afore mentioned, cookery is trending and has been for many years proving that the target market already exists if you can find it.  And lastly, it plays into the stereotype of the mother with her child who is teaching them to bake, passing on generations of skill to become an independent adult, and passing on the knowledge to further generations.

It has a wide appeal
A kids franchise is an opportunity that caters for both boys and girls; It is not restricted to only one sex in any way.  The franchisee also is providing a service to both the child and the parent.  The child enjoys learning about nutrition and cooking in a fun and friendly environment, effectively being taught an essential life skill.  This also helps the parent by both providing what is essentially childcare and assisting the leader to effectively perform a role that would otherwise potentially be provided by the parent.

Something to show
At the cookery franchise that I witnessed, one of the best elements for both child and parent was that the child had something to take home.  Not only was this a baking item but also a substantial savoury that was wholly impressive, all brought home with a laminated recipe card.  Therefore, what had been learned could be continued in the home setting.  The child was thrilled at how clever they had been, and I was actually shocked at what had been achieved within the given time frame.

Kids franchises are a rewarding line of work and a great business option for entrepreneurs looking for a great opportunity to provide something worthwhile for the younger generation.
